How Beings exist? And why ‘To exist or not to exist’ is a non question
A 17-Layer Ontological Framework of Spirit, Soul, Mind, and Territory
To exist or not to exist is a non question because a being always exists and is deeply embedded into the territory regardless of whether he is conscious about his existence or despite never experiencing ones own existence, and such a simple thing as “experience oneself as a subject experiencing the objects” is made esoteric by the word consciousness. And then people made the word even more inaccessible through further abstractions such Krishna Consciousness, The Consciousness of Mind and so on… Heidegger further made the word soul esoteric by calling it Dasien and the word spirit was made esoteric by Hegel calling it Geist. The spirit is that illuminates the clearing with light, populates the clearing with air and humidity making it possible for the Dasien in the Clearing to become authentic. In simple words, connect the soul with the omnipresent universal spirit.
I. Introduction: The Four-Class Ontological Stack
To comprehend human existence without slipping into naive physicalist reductionism or ungrounded spiritual idealism, reality must be modeled as a four-tiered vertical stack. Existence spans from the unmanifest, universal noumenal source, through lived individual consciousness and formal symbolic computation, down to the hard physical earth and its historically sedimented institutions.
┌─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐ │ TIER 4: CLASS 4 — THE SPIRIT (Pneuma / Noumenal Horizon) — Mind-Independent │ │ 4.3 Pure Noumenal Ground ──> 4.2 Moral Order (Dharma) ──> 4.1 Vitality (Prana) │ ├─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┤ │ TIER 3: CLASS 3 — THE SOUL (Dasein / The Lived Clearing) — Hybrid / Relational │ │ 3.4 Existential Care (Sorge) ──> 3.3 Presence ──> 3.2 Mood ──> 3.1 Egoic Self │ ├─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┤ │ TIER 2: CLASS 2 — THE MAP (Vorstellung / Symbolic Computation & Logic) │ │ [2.5 Autonomous Protocols / 2.4 Archetypal Math — Mind-Independent Map] │ │ [2.3 Ideology / 2.2 Formal Logic / 2.1 Neuro-Perceptions — Mind-Dependent Map] │ ├─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┤ │ TIER 1: CLASS 1 — THE TERRITORY (Erde / Material & Sedimented Reality) │ │ [1.5 Sedimented Institutional Territory / 1.4 Assets / 1.3 Artifacts — Mind-Dependent] │ │ [1.2 Biological Substrate / 1.1 Primordial Substrate — Mind-Independent Substrate] │ └─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
Each of the four classes contains granular, typed sub-layers classified by their fundamental Mind Status—whether they exist independently of human cognition or are generated and sustained by it.
II. The Granular Typed Ontological Classification
Class 1: The Territory (Erde & Material/Sedimented Reality)
The objective environment—progressing from primordial physical constants to historically sedimented social and linguistic realities.
| Sub-Type Layer | Layer Name | Exact Mind Status | Typological Definition & Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| Layer 1.1 | Primordial Quantum Substrate | Mind-Independent Substrate | Fundamental physical constants, quantum fields, thermodynamics, nuclear forces (E=mc^2). Existed prior to mind; persists if all minds vanish. |
| Layer 1.2 | Biological Substrate | Mind-Independent Substrate | Organic cellular structures, DNA, neural anatomy, metabolic pathways. Physical biological machinery of life governed by biochemistry. |
| Layer 1.3 | Enframed Physical Artifacts | Mind-Dependent Territory | Physical matter whose form and arrangement are sculpted by human intent: concrete highways, silicon microchips, skyscrapers, plowed furrows. |
| Layer 1.4 | Physical Institutional Tokens | Mind-Dependent Territory | Material items used for social coordination whose power relies on consensus: stamped fiat banknotes, metal border fences, signed paper deeds, physical courtrooms. |
| Layer 1.5 | Sedimented Institutional Territory | Mind-Dependent Territory | Established legal systems, spoken languages (Wittgenstein’s Form of Life), property regimes, and historical social structures that have hardened into inescapable, objective physical-social constraints of the environment. |
Class 2: The Map (Vorstellung & Symbolic Computation)
The active symbolic, logical, and representational frameworks constructed or discovered to model, simulate, and process reality.
| Sub-Type Layer | Layer Name | Exact Mind Status | Typological Definition & Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| Layer 2.1 | Neuro-Perceptual Constructs | Mind-Dependent Map | Raw sensory rendering inside an individual brain: visual colors, auditory pitch, spatial depth maps generated by the visual cortex. |
| Layer 2.2 | Subjective Formal Logic | Mind-Dependent Map | An individual’s personal mental calculations, private strategies, temporary hypotheses, and subjective mathematical proofs. |
| Layer 2.3 | Active Ideological Models | Mind-Dependent Map | Currently held political theories, individual business plans, personal worldviews, and cognitive bias filters active in human minds. |
| Layer 2.4 | Archetypal Mathematical & Logical Truths | Mind-Independent Map | Mathematical laws, prime number distribution, geometric relations, and formal logic valid independently of any human discovery or opinion (Platonic/Popperian World 3). |
| Layer 2.5 | Autonomous Algorithmic Protocols | Mind-Independent Map | Decentralized smart contracts, executing machine code, autonomous neural network decision trees operating and transforming symbolic state without active human oversight. |
Class 3: The Soul (Dasein & The Clearing)
The lived, individual center of awareness (Lichtung) that bridges raw physical existence with abstract maps and universal purpose.
| Sub-Type Layer | Layer Name | Exact Mind Status | Typological Definition & Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| Layer 3.1 | Egoic / Psychological Self | Mind-Dependent | Narrative memory, psychological defense mechanisms, social persona, personal identity stories, and collective psychological complexes. |
| Layer 3.2 | Affective Attunement (Befindlichkeit) | Mind-Dependent | Moods coloring world-disclosure prior to conscious thought: anxiety (Angst), grief, existential boredom, awe, and shared group emotional waves (egregoric resonance). |
| Layer 3.3 | Phenomenological Presence (Dasein) | Mind-Independent Clearing | The raw, irreducible fact of conscious awareness holding open the field of experience prior to conceptual thought. |
| Layer 3.4 | Existential Care (Sorge) | Mind-Independent Structure | The fundamental relational structure of existence where entities matter. The drive to maintain Being against physical entropy. |
Class 4: The Spirit (Pneuma & Noumena)
The unmanifest, universal source of life, moral order, and transcendent truth that grounds consciousness.
| Sub-Type Layer | Layer Name | Exact Mind Status | Typological Definition & Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| Layer 4.1 | Universal Vitality (Prana) | Mind-Independent | The animating life-force that differentiates living organisms from inert physical matter; universal biological/cosmic dynamism. |
| Layer 4.2 | Moral & Teleological Order (Dharma) | Mind-Independent | Objective moral truth (Satya), cosmic principles of balance, cause-and-effect, and natural alignment (Telos). |
| Layer 4.3 | Pure Noumenal Ground | Mind-Independent | The unconditioned, un-enframed ground of Being (Brahman / Thing-in-Itself) existing beyond space, time, and sensory limits. |
III. Historical Sedimentation & The Public Nature of Language
The boundary between active mental processing (Class 2) and physical-social reality (Class 1) is mediated over time by Historical Sedimentation.
[ PHASE 1: GENERATION ] [ PHASE 2: INSCRIPTION ] [ PHASE 3: SEDIMENTATION ] Layer 2.3: Subjective Mind-Dependent Map ──> Layer 1.3/1.4: Physical Token ──> Layer 1.5: Mind-Dependent Territory (e.g., A new concept or law) (Written code, physical courts) (Inescapable Social Environment)
- Generation: An idea (a linguistic rule, a political model, or a legal contract) originates in Class 2 (Mind-Dependent Map) as an active thought.
- Inscription: Through human effort, this concept is carved into physical matter—written onto paper, built as architecture, or programmed into silicon hardware (Layer 1.3 & Layer 1.4).
- Sedimentation into Territory: Over generations, as demonstrated by later Ludwig Wittgenstein (Philosophical Investigations), language and social practices cease to be private mental maps. Because “meaning is use” and language requires public, social criteria of correctness, language and institutional rules harden into Layer 1.5 (Sedimented Institutional Territory).
For a child born into this world, the English language, legal property rights, and economic frameworks are not “optional thoughts in their head”—they are objective, mind-dependent physical and social constraints of the environment. To force language or customs purely into abstract mental maps or raw physical dirt is a category error; they are first-class Mind-Dependent Territory.

1. Bringing Ideas to Life (Inspiration to Action)
- Spirit to Soul: Universal truths and higher principles become personal. What starts as a pure, abstract ideal turns into your deep, individual sense of purpose and care about the world.
- Soul to Map: Your sense of purpose gives instructions to your conceptual framework. The “Why” from your soul is translated into the “How”—practical models, language, logic, and strategies.
- Map to Territory: Your conceptual models turn into physical action. You use your blueprints to shape the real world by building physical objects, creating systems, and establishing institutions and rules.
2. Learning from Reality (Feedback & Growth)
- Territory to Map: The real world pushes back. Your senses gather information from your actions and surroundings, which updates your conceptual models and teaches you how things actually work.
- Map to Soul: Information becomes personal experience. You process these updated models emotionally, turning raw observations into hard-earned wisdom and a deeper understanding of life.
- Soul to Spirit: By letting go of your ego and personal attachments to the outcome, your individual experiences connect back to the bigger picture, returning you to a state of clear, universal truth.
V. Critical System Breakdown Modes (Friction Zones)
Systemic pathologies emerge when communications fail or distort at the boundaries between classes:
- Friction Zone 1: The Existential Bottleneck (Spirit ↔ Soul Disconnect): The Soul (Class 3) closes itself to Spirit (Class 4). Tasks are executed without connection to ultimate teleological purpose (4.2), leading to corporate nausea, apathy, and existential nihilism.
- Friction Zone 2: The Hermeneutic Gap (Soul ↔ Map Disconnect): Formal logic and language (Class 2) fail to capture the depth of lived experience (Class 3). The soul feels intense grief, awe, or inspiration, but lacks the symbolic vocabulary (2.2) to express it, resulting in internal emotional stagnation.
- Friction Zone 3: The Empirical Collision (Map ↔ Territory Disconnect): A mind-dependent model (Class 2) contradicts mind-independent physical laws (Class 1). Ideological fantasies (2.3) or flawed algorithmic directives (2.4/2.5) attempt to override physical limits (1.1), resulting in material destruction, structural engineering failure, or environmental collapse.
VI. Conclusion: The Integrated Sovereign
To live as an integrated, authentic human being (Authentic Dasein) is to maintain an unobstructed, transparent channel across all 17 sub-layers of reality.
You are not merely a biological body (Class 1), nor a calculating software engine or set of cultural scripts (Class 2). You are the Soul (Class 3) standing at the center of the circuit—anchored “upward” in the timeless noumenal light of Spirit (Class 4), and extending “downward” through the sharp, disciplined logic of the Map (Class 2) to act with mastery upon the physical and historically sedimented Territory (Class 1).
When this four-class circuit is kept fully open and aligned, human action ceases to be a mechanical, meaningless chore; it becomes the physical rendering of transcendent truth upon the earth.
